We prepared and distributed 30 food boxes for needy
families. Christmas 2005: Ms. Ashlie Emmett’s 5th grade class provided 10 families with food boxes. The children developed shopping lists, shopped for the food, decorated the boxes to hold the groceries and presented these beautifully decorated food boxes to the families at the CAA office. We prepared and distributed 30 food boxes for needy families.
Easter
2006: Ms. Kathy Cronin & Mrs. Gladys Beaven’s 2nd grade class created beautifully decorated Easter baskets that were filled with age appropriate gifts and snacks for 11 families. Ms. Ashlie Emmett’s 5th grade class provided Easter hams for the same 11 families. These two classrooms presented these beautiful Easter baskets and delicious hams to the families at the CAA office.

Christmas
2006: Ms. Ashlie Emmett’s 5th grade class provided 10 families with food boxes. Again the children developed shopping lists, shopped for food and presented these wonderful food boxes to the families at the CAA office. Mrs. Lynn Stieren’s 6th grade class adopted a family with four children and purchased gifts for them to have at Christmas. The students presented the wonderful gifts to the family at the CAA office. Ms. Angela Demeter & Mrs. Mary Chadwick’s 3rd grade class adopted a family with four children and purchased gifts for them to have at Christmas. Weather Supplies: As a result of the recent extremely
cold weather in our area, CAA received emergency funding to provide cold weather
supplies to homeless individuals and families, farm worker families and low
income households in CAA is collaborating with St. Vincent
de Paul to provide sleeping bags to homeless individuals and families. CAA is collaborating with the
Pescadero
Tankless
Water Heater Demonstration Pilot: CAA received discretionary funding from The Department of Community Services and Development (CSD) and The Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to install tankless water heaters and develop a feasibility study to determine the effectiveness of tankless water heaters versus the regular storage type water heaters. CAA is collaborating with Richard Heath and Associates (RHA) to develop protocol for installation procedures, measure installation standards, crew training and customer satisfaction. |
